What is Devil’s Pool?

Devil’s Pool is a natural infinity pool that forms on the edge of Victoria Falls during the dry season, typically from September to December. It is located on Livingstone Island, which is situated in the Zambezi River, near the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The pool is a popular spot for adventurous tourists who want to experience the power of the falls up close.

In the Devil’s Pool, the water is shallow, and the edge of the pool is protected by a natural rock barrier that keeps swimmers from being swept over the edge of the falls. This allows visitors to safely swim and play in the water while enjoying an incredible view of the falls.

It’s important to note that access to the Devil’s Pool is only possible during the dry season, and only through a guided tour, as the currents and water levels can be dangerous during other seasons. The tour includes a boat trip to the island and a guided walk to the pool. Visitors are also required to wear life jackets for safety.
